Why I participate in Alpe d'HuZes?
This year, I’m taking on a challenge that’s both personal and physical: running uphill in the Alps to raise money for cancer research. As a cancer researcher in the lab of Leila Akkari at the NKI, I see every day how important it is to push boundaries and find new solutions, but this year, the fight became even more personal when my mum was diagnosed with breast cancer. Her diagnosis has deepened my commitment to this cause and inspired me to contribute in every way I can.
Every step I take in this event represents progress toward better treatments and improving the lives of those affected by cancer. Research has the power to transform lives, and I’m determined to support it—not just in the lab, but also through this effort.
This run won’t be easy, but it’s nothing compared to the challenges faced by those battling cancer. Your support can make a real impact. Every donation, no matter the size, contributes to life-saving research and gives hope to patients and their families.
